Meusault ´les Vireuils` Domaine A&B Labry
This wine comes from 2 parcels which are located in the lieudit « les Vireuils », on the north of Meursault on the top of the slope. The vines are 30 years old for the first parcel and 50 years old for the second one. The soil is typical from Meursault: marly and calcareous.
The harvest is handpicked and is made as late as possible to obtain the best maturity. A traditional vinification with fermentation in barrels and “batonnage” during the first weeks unable to reveal the best aromas of Chardonnay.
The wine will remain 10 months to one year in barrels, before being bottled.
Fish in creamy sauce, cheeses of Burgundy (Cîteaux, Epoisses), but also white meats.
A nice green gold colour. When young Meursault “Les Vireuils” is dominated by white flowers aromas, with ageing the nose will change to note of fresh butter, nuts and honey. In mouth, savours of white pear are brought by a nice minerality.
