Château Fontvert is located near the village of Lourmarin in the heart of the Luberon Mountains, a region celebrated for the beauty of its landscapes. The estate was founded in 1598 by the Huguenot family who has cultivated the same soil for over three centuries. The family has carefully maintained the land in accordance with the estate’s founding principles and traditions ever since. On twenty hectares of vineyard, cultivated in organic and biodynamic farming since 2008, the typical varieties – Syrah/Shiraz, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Vermentino and Grenache Blanc – are fully expressed, resulting in exceptional and flavorfull wines. Located at the foot of the Luberon mountain, surrounded by vineyards, olive trees and orchards, the village of Lourmarin, rated as one of the “Most Remarkable Villages of France”, is a landmark in Provence. Year round, visitors flock in to discover its traditional architectural heritage, its XVth and XVIth century castle, its renowned farmer’s market, and its literary tradition (Albert Camus and Henri Bosco once lived there)
